JIMMY CARTER CONCERNED WITH DELAYED PEACE PROCESS
Kathmandu, 12 March: Former US President Jimmy Carter has expressed concern with the delayed peace process and constitution drafting as the basic law has to be promulgated by 28 May.
Carter, who maintains an office of the Carter Center in Nepal, expressed the concern with former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and NC President Sushil Koirala Friday over telephone, party sources said.
The head of the Carter Center Thursday also expressed such concern in conversations with Prime Minster Jhalanath Khanal and Maoist Chairman Prachanda.
The conversations are the former president’s pressure on political party leaders to end the prolonged political deadlock.
