CASES FILED AGAINST TWO LAWMAKERS UPDATE

Kathmandu, 8 May:Cases were fled Sunday at the special court against lawmakers B.Yadav and Gayatri Sah after they were released
Friday on Rs 10,000 bail.
They were arrested for misuse of their diplomatic passports.
CIAA arrested them after their release while in judicial remand.
If convicted, they face a jail sentence of three years and a Rs 50,000 fine.
They continue to be members of parliament.

UML DECISION NOT TO DELIVER HOME TO MAOISTS STILL STANDS SAYS ISHWOR POKHREL

Kathmandu, 8 May: UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel said a party decision not to award the home ministry to Maoists until the completion of the peace process still holds.
Pokhrel ,once a Khanal loyalist, said this in Biratnagar Sunday.
Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, who is also party chairman, last week awarded the ministry he was holding to Maoists arguing he had to implement a secret 7-point accord with Maoist Chairman Prachanda.
Khanal came under heavy fire from a faction in the politburo led by former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Sharma Oli before flying for Istanbul Friday for defying party directive and running the party on personal whim.
The central committee and politburo are taking up the issue after Khanal returns from the Turkish capital where he’s heading the Nepali delegation at a conference 48 least developed countries.

MORE DETAILS OF RELAY HUNGER STRIKE OF FORMER LAWMAKERS

Kathmandu, 8 May: Twenty-five former lawmakers will continue their hunger strike in front of the constituent assembly building until 28 May—the day when a constitution should be promulgated.
The strike aims to pressurize assembly to issue a constitution by the deadline.
The protestors have threatened further moves if the first phase of protest is ignored.

ONE KILLED, TWO INJURED IN JHAPA MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

Kathmandu, 8 May: One motorcyclist was killed and two others were seriously injured Sunday in a collision with a truck at Dudishal in Jhapa.
The injured are in serious condition.

NO TASK FORCE MEET UPDATE

Kathmandu, 8 May: A scheduled meeting of a four-member task force of representatives of four major parties to prepare a modality and schedule for integration of 19,000 plus Maoists didn’t meet Sunday because of busy schedule of members.
The body will now meet Monday.
The mechanism is preparing a modality and schedule for the special committee headed by the prime minister for integration, resettlement and supervision.
