NC OBJECTIONS OBSTRUCTS PRESENTATION OF GOVT. BILL TO EXTEND CA TENURE UPDATE (BREAKING NEWS)
Kathmandu, 22 May: Government couldn’t present as scheduled in parliament a bill to extend the tenure of the constituent assembly (CA) by another one year after 28 May through a 9th amendment in the interim constitution amid objections from main opposition NC.
NC is demanding government support for a 10-point demand to extend assembly session beyond 28May for a limited six months.
The legislature was scheduled to meet at three in the afternoon.
The meeting was rescheduled for Monday without parliament conducting business meeting by posting a notice on a board in the legislature.
Parties held inconclusive discussions for three hours Sunday to present the bill that has already been registered at parliament secretariat.

KHAS CHETRIS TO CONTINUE VALLEY PROTEST MONDAY UPDATE
Kathmandu, 22 May: Khas Chetris will continue their Valley protests Monday for the second day demanding inclusion of the group as indigenous to Nepal.
Police said 327persons were arrested during the total strike Sunday.
Several vehicles were damaged in attacks, including a vehicle of TU Teaching Hospital in Lalitpur.
A motorcycle protest rally was organized.
It has come to light DFID of Great Britain was financing activities of an indigenous NGO pushing autonomy and regionalism when millions of rupees of British assistance was suspended with the development agency protesting their strikes.
The move was ‘childish’, said the Nepali NGO.

BODIES OF FOUR MISSING CHILDREN FOUND IN PARSA
Kathmandu, 22 May; Bodies of four missing children missing in a storm since last Thursday at Jitpur,Parsa, were found in a ditch near their homes Sunday.
The children were aged between two to seven years, including a girl.
