Kathmandu, 31 May: In what Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal personally termed a ‘self-confession’ in a 12-minutee national address at 4.10 in the afternoon Tuesday, he admitted political parties and leaders failed to deliver results ‘in the last five years’.
“Political parties and leaders have failed to deliver for which we have to confess,” he said in an address broadcast live by radio and television from the meeting hall of the National Planning Commission from Singha Durbar.
He made the confession two days after three parties facilitated a three-month extension of a constituent assembly (CA) Sunday morning by signing a five-point agreement.
“I ask for forgiveness,” he said.
‘There was no alternative to the extension of the CA tenure,” he said.
He also said there was no alternative to a national government and asked for main NC
‘I will shoulder responsibility for it,” he said and suggested .
he won’t resign immediately inviting anarchy .
:”We should be careful from experience,” Khanal said in apparent reference to the continuance to of his predecessor Madhav Kumar Nepal as government for seven months after he resigned under Maoist pressure without an alternative government.
‘No effort will be saved for formation of a national government,” he said.’There’s no alternative to a national government.”
‘Instability will be costly for neighbours,” Khanal warned.

SIX KILLED IN YARSHAGUNBA COLLECTION

Kathmandu, 31 May: Six persons were killed last week while collecting yarshagumba, the Himalayan herbal Viagra, from remote mountain region of Saipal in Bhajang in the far-West, first reports said.
Two slipped and died while four others froze.
