SUSHIL KOIRALA REITERATES NC DEMAND FOR FIRST CONCLUSION OF PEACE PROCESS
Kathmandu, 12 Sept. Main opposition NC President Sushil Koirala said Monday said there will be no constitution promulgation until all camps are cleared of Maoist fighters.
He charged Maoists for attempting to promulgate a constitution before the completion of the peace process; conclusion of the peace process should precede constitution promulgation, Koirala said in Biratnagar.
‘The ball is in the Maoist court to complete the tasks of peace and constitution drafting,” the bearded NC leader said.
He charged the party leading the government is attempting to impose a totalitarian one-party state.
“We’re not ready to handover loktantra on a silver platter,” Koirala added and said Maoists haven’t implemented any past agreement beginning with the 12-point Delhi accord.

PATNA HIGH COURT VERDICT AGAINST MAOIST LEDERS TO BE SETTLED POLITICALLY
Kathmandu, 12 Sept.: Chitwan district in-charge of the UCPN (Maoist), Anil Sharma Birahi, who has been slapped six year jail term and Rs 700,000 in fine by the Patna High Court of India along with 10 other Maoist leaders, has said that the issue will be settled politically, RSS reports from Chitwan..
Sharma, who had served over two years in Deur Central Jail of Patna during the people’s war after being arrested in India, said this issue should be resolved politically saying that the case is not a legal issue.
Talking to RSS Sharma said, “India always wants to sabotage the revolutionary movement in Nepal.”
The Maoist central leader is considered close to the Baidhya faction in the Maoist party.
He also said that the verdict is mysterious as the court has handed down the verdict at a time when the pro-Indian faction of the party was in the government.
He said the issue will be finalized after holding political consultations.
Eleven Maoist leaders including Sharma were arrested by the Indian police in May 2, 2004 from Patna, India

TOP INDIAN PARTY LEADERS COMING WITH BHATTARAI GOVT.INSTALLATION
Kathmandu, 12 Sept.: A group of Indian political leaders from four major political camps is all set to visit Nepal to have an interaction with the newly elected Baburam Bhattarai –led government in order to discuss bilateral issues, The Himalayan Times reports.
This will be the first visit of top Indian political delegation after Dr. Bhattarai was sworn in on August.
“Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh, JD (U) president Sharad Yadav, CPM politburo member Sitaram Yechury and former BJP chief Rajnath Singh have been invited to visit Nepal on Saturday,” writes The Hindustan Times.
The visit comes as attempts are ongoing to finalize a visit of the new premier to India.
Bhattarai and Prime Minister Mahmohan Singh will hold talks in New York on the sidelines of thee forthcoming annual UN general assembly session.
PM Bhattarai leaves for New York Monday heading a 13-member delegation.
Yechury is coming after a long break.
