CHOPPERS EVACUATE 175 STRANDED TOURISTS FROM EVEREST REGION
THURSDAY
Kathmandu, 17 Nov.: Helicopters Thursday evacuated stranded 175 tourists and Nepalis, including sick, from the Everest region.
Fixed wing aircraft couldn’t fly into the region serviced by two airports at Phaplu and Lukla for the sixth day Thursday because of inclement weather.
More than 1,100 tourists are stranded there.
More than 3,500 tourists were first stranded there for one week for similar reasons.
