FINANCE MINISTER PUN LEAVES FOR SEOUL

Kathmandu, 28 Nov. Finance Minister Barshaman Singh Pun
flew Sunday night for Seoul where he’ll participate in a meetinfof finance ministers of developing countries.
Pun flew for South Korea after signing an agreement with India the same morning to avoid double taxation.
Pun said such agreements has been signed with 10 other countries as Nepal expressed readiness to pen such an accord with northern
neighbour China as well.

TB REACH PROGAMME EFFECTIVE

Kanchanpur, 28 Nov.: The TB Reach programme being implemented in Kanchanpur district for tuberculosis control has been found to be effective, RSS reports from Kanchanpur.

The programme being implemented for a year with the partnership of the World Health Organization (WHO) has been of help in controlling tuberculosis in the district, according to the National Social Welfare Association, an organization that is involved in tuberculosis control programme.

Programme coordinator Devraj Badu said under the programme, volunteers visit the doorsteps of the people and collect sputum samples for testing for tuberculosis and if anyone is found to be infected with the disease, medicines are provided to that person on a regular basis.

Badu said mostly migrant workers who return home from India, women sex workers and people at risk of HIV/AIDS are found to be infected with tuberculosis.

The Association has also set up what are called the Static Points at the transit points at Gadda Chauki and Belauri in the district for monitoring the TB patients.
