RJP DEMANDS 14 PROVINCES

RASHTRIYA JANAMUKTI PARTY DEMANDS 4 PROVINCES

Kathmandu, 28 Nov.: A delegation of the Rastriya Janamukti Party (RJP) handed over a 10-point memorandum to Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai calling to maintain the 14-province proposal tabled at the Constituent Assembly and ensuring equal power sharing for all the federal units, RSS reports.

The party has also called for proportionate representation based on ethnic population and thereby to adopt proportionate representation system of election.

Handing over the memorandum, Vice-president of the Party, Rabindra Bahadur Sunar also demanded representation of all the parties in the Army Integration Special Committee and immediate action against those found guilty in the fake VAT bill scam.

Accepting the memo, PM Dr Bhattarai said many of the demands put forth by the party have already been agreed upon, and gave assurances to reach to a consensus on other remaining issues through discussion.
