DEUBA RETURNS HOME FRIDAY Kathmandu, 14 June: Former Prime Minister and senior NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba returns home Friday after concluding a five-day India visit at invitation of government of India. Deuba, after Chairman Prachanda, is the second political party leader to he invited by the Indian government to discuss internal political issues with Indian government and opposition leaders amid a fluid political situation at home. Other party leaders are being invited by New Delhi for discussions. India has been lobbying for constituent assembly elections amid assurances of help for it.. Deuba held discussions with Sonia Gandhi who didn’t meet Maoist chief—the first party leader Invited for discussions .even as a government of retired senior government officials is in Singha Durbar. But the government which announced election dates 19 November is acting like at appendage of the high-level politicl mechanism of the Big Three and Madesh Morcha. Nnnn LEADERSHIP CHANGE OF HLPM Kathmandu, 14 June: UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal hands over leadership of the HLPM of the Big Three and Madesh Morcha to Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar at a meeting of the mechanism Friday. Khanal, who took over its leadership from NC President Sushils Koirala,,hands over the rotating leadership to Gachedhar who is chairman of MJFL Chairman Prachanda first headed HLMP which is attempting to run government after rivalry forced DR. Baburam Bhattarai out of office. Nnnn SURUA BAHADUR THAPA ASKS WORKERS TO WORK FOR ELECTIONS Kathmandu, 13 June: Newly installed RPP Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa Thursday asked workers to work for election announced by the government. The second constituent assembly vote will be held 19 November amid threats by 42 parties to disrupt the vote.
