US EMBASSY CONDEMNS KILLINGS OF NEPALI GUARDS IN AFGHANISTAN
13 INJURED IN KAILALI BUS ACCIDENT
Kathmandu, 3 April: Thirteen persons were injured, five seriously, in a bus and tructk collision near Baliya in Kailali Saturday.
The bus was transporting workers of Nepal Tharu Sangh’s first national conference in Dhangadi from Nepalgunj.

RHINO CENSUS BEGINS IN CHITWAN TUESDAY
Kathmandu, 3 April: A census of the endangered one-horn rhino begins in the Chitwan National Park Tuesday with the support of WWF and National Nature Conservation Trust.
The last census was conducted .2008.
A study in 2005 found 372 rhinos in the camp.
A small population has been trans-located to a park in Bardiya to save it from extinction in an epidemic.
Eleven rhino poachers were arrested in one month recently.
One poacher admitted killing nine rhinos in Chitwan.

6th SOUTH KOREAN FESTIVAL BEGINS MONDAY
Kathmandu, 3 April: The sixth South Korean film festival begins in the capital Monday.
The South Korean embassy is organizing the festival at the Russian Cultural Center in Kamal Pokhari.
Four movies will be screened in the five-day festival.

NEW WORKING COMMITTEE IN NOC
Kathmandu, 3 April: Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan and Jiban Ram Shrestha have been elected unopposed chairman and general secretary by a special meeting of general assembly of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) Saturday.
A 17-member working committee was also elected.
Representatives of International Olympic Committee and Asian Olympic Committee were present.

US CONDEMNS KILLINGS OF NEPALIS IN AFGHANISTAN
Kathmandu, 3 April: The US embassy in Kathmandu Saturday joined President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the American people in an attack in northern Afghanistan killing four Nepali guards with the UN
“We condemn their bravery and commitment to supporting the UN’s vital work in Afghanistan,” the statement said.
