TWO CHILDREN, MOTHER DAUGHTER KILLED IN DOLPA,
HUMLA BOMB EXPLOSIONS (UPDATE)

Kathmandu, 2 April: A mother and daughter were killed in a bomb
explosion Saturday morning at 7.30 at a village near district headquarter in Dolpa at the home of Akal Bahadur Shahi, police said.
Mother Gauri Shahi and her 27-year-old daughter Chadani Chand were
killed.
The house completely destroyed by the blast.
Two children were killed Friday in an abandoned bomb blast near a village adjoining district headquarters in Humla Friday
The bomb was abandoned during the 10-year Maoist insurgency.
Man Bahadir Bohara and Asmita Bohara were killed.

SEVEN WORKERS INJURED IN TAPLEGUNJ ATTACK

Kathmandu, 2 April: Seven road workers were injured, four seriously, in
an attack overnight by an unidentified group at Olangchunggola, Taplejung.
Other details weren’t available.
The four seriously are undergoing treatment at district hospital..

UN CONFIRMS ONLY FOUR NEPALIS KILLED IN AFGHANISTAN

Kathmandu, 2 April: UN has confirmed four Nepali guards were killed
when an angry mob protesting the burning of the Moslem holy book Koran in USA were killed in Afghanistan Friday.
A AP report from Kabul earlier said five Nepalis guarding a UN office
at Mazar-I- Sharif were killed by the angry mob Friday.
Their identities weren’t immediately known.
The protest Saturday spread to Kandahar.
Fresh reports said 20 people have been killed in two days.

RAMESHWOR KHANAL SAYS HE’S ON LEAVE UNTIL END OF CHAITRA.

Kathmandu, 2 April: Finance Secretary Rameshwor Khanal who abruptly
walked out of office this week said he’s on leave until the end of Chaitra ‘mid-April” denying earlier reports he resigned.
Khanal said he won’t return to his old job.
He was talking to reporters in Parbat Saturday.
Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari asked Khanal described an an
incorruptible civil servant to return to his old job amid charges by main
opposition NC he was hounded out of office by Adhikari working on behalf of business houses being proved for financial irregularities and avoiding paying VAT.
There resignation has come as a serious embarrassment for government.

INDUSTRIES RESUME PRODUCTION (UPDATE)

Kathmandu, 2 April: Industries in the Birgunj/ Pathlaiya corridor forcibly
shut down in a trade union affiliated by a trade group close of Maoist
Vice-Chairman Mohan Baidya and anotherunio close toterai partiesresumed production Saturday.
Industries along the Morang/Sunsari will resume production Sunday following an agreement Friday between unions and management to crate an environment for talks to address workers’ demands.
An agreement was reached to find a solution in the next four days.
Billions of rupees have been lost by the forcible closure of more than 1,000 industries..

NSU CHAIRMAN RESIGNS (UPDATE)

Kathmandu, 2 April: Chairman of Nepal Students’ Union (NSU), a student wing of
the main opposition NC, Pradip Paudel resigned Saturday.
NC central committee discussing ways to activate the body was also inconclusive Saturday.
