DR. BABURAM BHATTARAI BEING INSTALLED PM MONDAY

Kathmandu, 28 Aug.: Prime Minister-elect Dr. Baburam Bhattarai will be installed formally Monday at one in the afternoon Monday by President Dr.Raam Baran Yadav .
Speaker Subash Nemwang formally conveyed parliament election result to the president Sunday evening during a meeting.

SUPPREME COURT DISMISSES WRIT CHALLENGING LEGALITY OF ASSEMBLY EXTENSION

Kathmandu, 28 Aug.: A special supreme court bench of five justices headed by Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi Sunday dismissed a writ petition filed by two lawyers challenging the legality of the last three-month extension a constituent after 28 May.
The bench issued the verdict after a five-day hearing conducted last week.
The judgment was announced only Sunday.
The last apex court decision confirmed the extension for three months of doctrine of necessity for not more than six months 25 May.
Government has filed a 10th amendment in the constitution to extend the assembly/parliament by another three months failing to extend a constitution and end the peace process by 31 August.
The first task of the new Baburam Bhattarai government will be to ensure passage of the amendment proposal by parliament.

NEPALI CYCLIST KILLED IN SAUDI ARABIA

Kathmandu, 28 Aug.: A Nepali migrant worker has died on the spot in Saudi Arabia in a road accident, RSS reports from Argakanchi
Kamal Mukhiya, 26, of Sandhikharka VDC-6 from Arghakhanchi district died after a vehicle knocked his bicycle on Wednesday.
Mukhiya was in Saudi Arabia from last three months, said his friend Hari Bahadur Mukhiya.
Mukhiya had gone to Saudi Arabia through North Polo Overseas Manpower Company.

TWO INDIAN PILGRIMS KILLED IN DANG BUS ACCIDENT

Kathmandu, 28 Aug; Two Indian pilgrims returning home after paying homage at Swargadwari in Pyuthan were killed in a vehicular accident in Dang Sunday.
Two dozen passengers were injured. Radio Nepal said.
