8 NEPALIS MISSINGIN JAPAN
Kathmandu, 13 March:: At least eight Nepalis, including some women, have gone missing at a prefecture along Japan’s coast in the northeast Friday following an earthquake and tsunami, a Nepali website nepaljapan.com. reports.
Two Nepali restaurants were also washed away.
Kaji Sherpa, Tulashi Sherpa and Siva Acharya in Niye Ken, are out of contact. Shawan Tulachan and his wife Mina, who run the Nepali restaurant Yeti in Miyagi Ken, are also missing.
The Nepali embassy in Japan and non-Nepali residents have formed an earthquake and tsunami affected support committee to rescue and lin Tokyo.
The committee hopes to contact and provide assistance, including lodging and food to those affected.
Nepali embassy, in statement, has asked all the Nepalis living in Japan to take precautionary measures for earthquake and tsunami safety. It also urged them to contact the embassy office for help.

Kathmandu, 13 March: SP Hari Bahadur Pal of Metropolitan Police Saturday took over security charge at central jail Saturday.

SEARCH FOR NEW OFFICIAL RESIDENCE FOR PM
Kathmandu, 13 March: A search for land to build a new official residence for the prime minister has been launched, Gorkhapatra reports.
The decision to shift the residence for the government chief was taken by the pervious government 16 May.
The present residence at Baluwatar is located a long way away from Singha Durbar where the central secretariat is located.

WEEK-LONG FAGU CELEBRATIONS START SUNDAY
Kathmandu, 13 March: Week-long fagu celebrations start Sunday.
The chir or a pole will be erected at Basantapur square in the capital later Sunday to launch the celebrations of spring by the working class.
