UML WON’T BE OBSTACLE FOR NATIONAL GOVT.UPDATE

Kathmandu, 24 May: UML central committee leading the government decided Tuesday said the party won’t be an obstacle for the formation a government of national unity
But the party supported Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal when it concluded the government shouldn’t resign until a clear basis was created for formation of a successor government.
The committee recalled Khanal, the successor of Madhav Kumar Nepal, for was elected weeks after Khanal’s election.
The more powerful central committee approved of a politburo recommendations with amendments.
The suggestions were presented at the central committee Tuesday.
The committee meets again 31May.
A tussle between factions of the Khanal and Nepal has been dominating discussions at the two bodies
Meanwhile, MJFN Republican chaired by Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta decided Tuesday there was no alternative to the resignation of the Khanal for formation of a national unity government.
The party split from ruling MJFN Monday
taking 13 of 25 lawmakers with it
Meanwhile, UML leader KP Sharma called for Khanal’s resignation at the central committee.

MAOISTS, NC FORM TASK FORCE UPDATE

Kathmandu, 24 May: Ruling UCPN (Maoist) and main opposition NC formed a task force Tuesday with two members each to discuss their respective positions on current issues to remove hurdles for a political outlet.
Maoist Vice-chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Barsha Man Pun with responsibilities for former combatants are in the Maoist team.
Bhattarai has been advocating a national government with NC.
Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and Dr Minendra Rijal have been ominated by NC.to the body.
