PM CALLS FOR CONSENSUS GOVT.

BELEAGURED PM CALLS FOR CONSENSUS GOVT.WITH NO INDICATION OF RESIGNING
Kathmandu, 23 March: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai held a meeting with seven fringe parties representing the Constituent Assembly, on peace, constitution and formation of the national consensus government on Friday, RSS reports.
During the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister at Singha Durbar, PM Bhattarai said he has been trying to form a national consensus government sooner.
Lawmaker Badri Neupane said, "PM expressed his commitment to give the present government a shape of national consensus government."
Representatives of CPN (Unified), Nepa Rastriya Party, Nepal Pariwar Dal, Nepal Loktantrik Samajbadi Dal, Janamukti party, Churebhawar Rastriya Ekta Party and Samajbadi Prajatantrik Janata Party Nepal were present in the meeting. RSS

SACKED MINISTER GIRI WITHDRAWN SUPPORT FOR BHATTARAI GOVT.
Kathmandu, 23 March: Sacked Labour Minister Sariti Giri Friday announced withdrawal of her party’s [NSP (D)] support for government and accused Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai of attempting o impose communist rule and takeover of bureaucracy.
Giri charged at a news conference she resisted attempts to register four new manpower agencies.

CONTRACT FOR POKHARA AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION FLAWED
Kathmandu, 23 March: Parliament’ s public account committee Friday concluded a n award of a contract to a CHnese company to construct Pokhara airport was flawed.
In a light decision, the committee asked government not to repeat such shortcomings later.
The committee summoned Finance Minister Barshaman Singh Pun and finance ministry officials for a hearing.
