PM TELLS NEW SAARC CHIEF NEPAL TO STRENGTHEN

Kathmandu, 23 March: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said Nepal was fully committed to strengthening of SAARC, RSS reports.
In a meeting at his own office with newly appointed SAARC Secretary General Ahamed Saleem who arrived here for taking charge of his office a few days ago, the prime minister said he was firm on making SAARC more dynamic as per the wishes of the South Asian people.
The prime minister expected Secretary General Saleem's active role in making SAARC summit to be held in Nepal next year, successful, said PM's Press Advisor Ram Rijhan Yadav.
In the first meeting with the prime minister, the secretary general said he had prioritised maintaining relations between SAARC countries harmonious and enquired about peace process and constitution drafting in Nepal, said Yadav.
